This avocado milkshake is first introduced to me by my dear friend Rashmi, when I was in Arizona. She is a darling who makes some instant tasty juices for me every time when I visit her home. I and my son got addicted to this fun milkshake, luckily this is a common fruit in India too, which is called as butter fruit here. Thanks to dear Rashmi now this has become a regular breakfast in our home once a week.

Let’s talk something about this wonder fruit Avocado (Butter fruit).

Avocado smoothie - smoothie

First of all, this is originated from Southern America and Mexico and spread across the world. Now you can see this fruit in different names everywhere all around the world. In many countries, people consume this avocado in Savory dishes like salads, rolls, sandwiches and even in soups. But for me, a fruit means juice or shake or smoothie or something which has a mild sweet touch 😉 This smoothie is from Indonesia, but you can see this as a milkshake in many places of India as Butter juice.

The specialty of the smoothie is you do not need an ice cream topping. In India, it has a very apt name called butter fruit because of the soft and buttery texture. The important tip I would like to give you is to choose a fully ripe butter fruit to make this smoothie. If the fruit is not ripe enough then you may not get the desired results and taste. To find the fully ripe fruit just check the outer skin, which should be very dark in color. Also, you can check by slightly pressing if it is too soft to press then that is the right consistency to make a smoothie. By chance, if you got unripe fruit, then keep that in open shelf for 2 days, to make it fully ripe.
